Frequently asked questions
How long can a Reel, a TikTok or a Short be?
A YouTube Short is 3 minutes at most, vertical or square. Instagram lets you record Reels up to 20 minutes, but does not recommend Reels over 3 minutes to new audiences. According to TikTok’s help center, a video recorded in the app can be up to 10 minutes. The generator writes scripts from 15 to 90 seconds.
How do I write a short video script?
A two- or three-second hook, a few shots that each move one step forward, then a single call to action. For each shot: what we see, what is said, what is written on screen, and how long it lasts. That is the shape of the scripts suggested here.
How many words for a 30-second video?
At a normal speaking pace, about two and a half words a second, so 70 to 80 words for 30 seconds, hook and call to action included. Read the script out loud with a timer: if you have to rush, cut.
Can I make a video without speaking?
Yes: untick “I speak in the video”. The script then carries everything through the picture and on-screen text, with shots long enough to read.
Does the same script work for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?
Yes, all three are short vertical videos: a 15 to 90 second script works everywhere. Pick your main network in the tool, then post the same video on the others.
