Safe count: a styled letter often counts as two, like an emoji. Approximate preview: the real font depends on the phone. Some styles may show as empty boxes on an older device.

Good to know before you paste
- Screen readers read these letters poorly: they spell them out, name them or skip them. Keep the style to a few words.
- Instagram and Google search do not recognize a styled word: keep what people should find you by in plain text.
- Your username (@) does not accept them: only letters, numbers, periods and underscores work there. Your name, bio, captions and comments do.
How it works
- 1
Type your text
A name, a bio line, the start of a caption. Every style updates as you type.
- 2
Pick a style
Filter by family, check the profile preview, then click Copy.
- 3
Paste into Instagram
In your name, bio, a caption, a comment or a story: the style stays.
Using fonts on Instagram the right way
One style, a few words
Your name in bold, a promise in cursive, the rest in plain text. Three styles fighting inside 150 characters is unreadable.
Keep searchable words plain
To search, “𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵” is not the word “coach”. Your job, your city and your hashtags stay in regular letters.
Think about people who listen
Blind and low-vision people listen to profiles with a screen reader. One styled word is fine, a whole styled bio becomes noise.
Check on your phone
The common styles (bold, italic, cursive) display almost everywhere. Rarer ones may turn into empty boxes on an older device: look at your profile after pasting.
Hearts and symbols add space
A symbol at the start of a line separates the ideas in a bio as well as a font does, and it gets in the way of neither reading nor search.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change the font on Instagram?
Instagram does not let you pick a font for your bio, captions or comments: the app shows everything in your phone’s font. To get a different look, people use Unicode characters that look bold, italic or handwritten. Type your text above, copy the style you like and paste it into Instagram.
How do I put a font in my Instagram bio?
Copy the style in the tool, then in Instagram go to your profile, Edit profile, Bio, and paste. Keep an eye on the 150-character bio limit: the tool’s preview counts for you, on the safe side, since a styled letter can count as two.
Can I change the font of my Instagram name?
Your display name, yes: paste the style in Edit profile, Name. Your username (the one starting with @), no: it only accepts letters, numbers, periods and underscores, and from what we see styled letters do not go through.
Do these fonts work with accented letters?
Almost: Unicode has no bold, italic or cursive accented letters. So the tool leaves é, à, ç… regular inside a styled word: slightly different, but readable everywhere. Strikethrough, underline and frame styles always keep accents.
Where can I paste these fonts?
In your name, bio, captions, comments and story text, which also has its own styles. The same text pastes into TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn or a message: these are characters, not an image.
Why do some styles show as boxes?
The viewer’s phone has no font for those characters, often on an older device. Bold, italic, cursive and gothic display almost everywhere; rarer ones (upside down, small caps, superscript) a little less. After pasting, check your profile on your phone.
Do fonts hurt search or accessibility?
They help neither. To search, a word written with these characters is not the same word. To a screen reader, they are symbols it spells out or skips. Keep the style to a few words and leave your job, city and hashtags in plain text.
How many characters does styled text use?
A styled letter is a single character on screen, but it is stored as two units, like an emoji. Instagram does not say how it counts, so the tool’s preview uses the higher count: a bio under 150 here is under 150 in Instagram too.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The styles are computed in your browser; the text never leaves your device and is not stored anywhere.
