Social Media Post Ideas
Out of post ideas? Describe your business, pick the network and what you want to achieve: you get ten specific ideas, each with its format, its hook and the tool to make it.
Free, no sign-up. Up to 25 requests a day.
How it works
- 1
Describe your business
What you do, for whom, what sets you apart. The ideas start there.
- 2
Pick a network and a goal
Get known, sell, keep customers or hire: the ideas and formats change with it.
- 3
Make the ones you like
Each idea has its format and hook; a link opens the tool that writes the caption, the post or the script.
Finding what to post without spending the week on it
One goal per post
Get known, sell, keep customers, hire: knowing what the post should achieve makes the idea obvious, and quickly shows if your week only talks about one thing.
The right format for the idea
Something to show goes in a video, steps to keep go in a carousel, a quick question goes in a story. The tool suggests one format per idea, among those of the network you picked.
Yours, not someone else’s
Instagram no longer recommends accounts that mostly repost other people’s work, in photos, carousels or reels. Borrow a format, never a post.
Try, then look
Meta’s Business Help Center suggests trying different types of posts and watching which ones get reactions. Do more of what works.
A pace you can keep
LinkedIn’s creator guide suggests 2 to 5 posts a week. Elsewhere there is no official number: a steady pace beats an intense month followed by silence.
Frequently asked questions
What should I post on social media when I run out of ideas?
Start from what you want to achieve. To get known: tips, behind the scenes, your take on your field. To sell: your product in action, a before and after, the questions people ask before buying. To keep customers: how to get more out of what they bought. The tool suggests ten for your business.
Reel, carousel or story: which format should I pick?
A video for what can be shown (a gesture, a transformation), a carousel for step-by-step content people save, a story for what is happening now (a question, a poll, behind the scenes). Each idea from the tool comes with the format that fits it.
How many posts a week?
LinkedIn’s creator guide suggests 2 to 5 posts a week. Instagram and TikTok give no number: pick a pace you can keep for months, then adjust based on your insights.
Can I reuse ideas from other accounts?
The format, yes; the post, no. Instagram no longer recommends accounts that mostly repost other people’s content. To feature another account, its tools (Collabs, Remix, sharing to your story) keep the author’s credit.
Where can I find inspiration on Instagram?
Instagram offers the Inspiration tab, Explore and trending audio to spot what is taking off. Use them to find formats, then make them your own, about your business.
How do I turn an idea into a post?
Under each idea, a link opens the tool that writes it: the Instagram caption, the LinkedIn post, the Facebook post, the Google update or the video script, with the idea already filled in. All that is left is to read it and add your visual.
Is the generator free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no credit card. Each visitor gets 25 requests a day across all our text generators. Your description is not kept.
